Johan Schrøder, former Radiometer CEO, has passed

PRESS RELEASE // It is with great sorrow that Radiometer learns about the passing of Mr. Johan Schrøder, son of Radiometer co-founder, Carl Schrøder and former CEO of Radiometer.

April 8, 2019

Johan joined Radiometer as President and CEO in 1973 and remained in that position until 2004 when Radiometer was sold to Danaher Corporation. Under Johan’s leadership, Radiometer started focusing on the core business of blood gas and started expanding operations globally through the establishment of sales companies around the world. Until his last day with Radiometer, Johan never deviated from his vision and aspiration that Radiometer should be a leader within blood gas.

"I'm humble to be part of an organization and business that Johan was instrumental in building," says Henrik Schimmell, President and CEO of Radiometer. "The people who have had the honor of working with Johan talk of him as a visionary leader and a leader always focused on investigating new ways and solutions. Having grown up with and at Radiometer, Johan had a special bond with and understanding of Radiometer, one that cannot be copied or taught. Radiometer owes a lot of our current success to the work of Johan. To us, we have not just lost an important figure in Danish business, but a piece of Radiometer history and we send our deepest condolences to Johan’s family and loved ones. May he rest in peace."
