Second Radiometer donation to support Red Cross COVID19 response

Acknowledging the impact that COVID-19 has on communities and economies globally, we are pleased to announce our second monetary donation to the Danish Red Cross’ international COVID-19 response of DKK 50,000 (USD 7,900) on World Health Day 7 April.

April 7, 2021

At Radiometer, we remain committed to making public health a top priority and once again support the global COVID-19 relief efforts through a monetary donation to the Danish Red Cross’ international COVID-19 response backing Emergency Medical Services, Primary Health Care in the local community, and information campaigns about COVID-19 to prevent the virus from spreading.

”As we all know, fighting COVID-19 is no sprint. It requires tenacity and allies. At Radiometer, we want to continue to make a positive impact in our communities and extend our own active work to ensure equality. Hence, it’s natural for us to continue to support the important work done by the Danish Red Cross in this area,” Henrik Schimmell, President of Radiometer, tells.

“We are very happy that Radiometer supports our work with securing better access to health services such as medical check-up, good hygiene measures and the needed medical equipment in some of the world’s most vulnerable countries. Especially as the COVID-19 pandemic is putting more and more pressure on already weak health systems. Donations like this makes us able to continue our important response to the current pandemic and strengthen local communities to be more resilient in protracted crises situations,“ says Bjarke Skaaning, Head of Disaster Management at Danish Red Cross.

About the Danish Red Cross:

The Red Cross works in local communities with information campaigns about COVID-19 and with monitoring and reporting of signs of COVID-19 so that the local population can prepare for any sudden outbreaks. In many countries, they, therefore, support local authorities by acting as the authorities' extended arms and legs in the field of health, detecting and screening local communities for COVID-symptoms while raising awareness of the virus. The Red Cross, thus, helps to slow down the spread of infection so that the already pressured health systems in vulnerable areas can keep up and the local residents can get the help they need.
